Very quick update! I'm getting closer... I'll be packing and shipping orders through the weekend, as quickly as possible. I'm still on 9/30 orders today, but this is probably 98% of the total orders received, so please don't be worried if you placed your order early in the sale, and haven't received a shipping notice yet. The way the orders fall on my master list comes down to minutes instead of days, so it's hard to give exact updates! The orders from 10/1-10/2 will be much, much quicker to process. Hi everyone!
Shipping will continue through this week, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that I finish on time! Most of the orders were placed on 9/30, so I'm still working on those. Thank you to my regulars for your continued patience and patronage, and to my many new customers who decided to try Haunt during a sale with one of my longer turnarounds! :D I am grateful to you all.

I'd like to also express my apologies for letting my emails get a little messy again. If you have recently emailed me and have not received a response, please consider resending it. I apologize sincerely for this inconvenience!

I do plan on holding a small overstock sale with any of the remaining Autumn stock, and then I don't know when my next shop opening will be. I have decided that future sales will be much, much smaller, so this is good news as far as TAT is concerned! :) I may do a series of very small sales throughout the year, instead of one giant one for each season.

Hi everyone!
Autumn Apothecary shipping will commence this week! I apologize for starting a few days later than I stated in my last post- but I'm still on track with my original TAT, so don't fear! I may have posssssibly gotten a little ambitious with the little details considering the number of products/orders. :D I'm going to process the orders and pack the boxes a little differently this time, in hopes of increasing my daily output of packages, so that I can stay on track with the 8 week turnaround. Here are a few details regarding the process:

~As normal, orders will be processed in the order that they appear on my master order list, which I print directly from PayPal. This puts the orders received in a fairly chronological order (since so many orders are placed at the same time or close together, the list is an approximate time of order, not exact). I'm going to take a quick look through the orders and pull out the really small ones to send first (lip balms/single product- this won't take long), and then I'll start at the beginning of the list (first orders placed).

~IMPORTANT CHANGE: To help increase my daily package output, I'm going to process combined shipping/shipping overage refunds at the end of each day, so you may get your shipping notice and shipping refund at separate times (possibly up to a day apart).

Happy Halloween! I plan to dive into the Autumn Apothecary shipping next week. I'll update again once I start sending packages out, and throughout the shipping process. I've been working on products steadily since the shop closed, and I still have lots to do! Lots and lots of little details... :D I'm also making some fun little gifts for your orders- I hope you all enjoy!

I've had a few inquiries about when the next shop opening will be- I'm going to have an overstock sale once I get towards the end of the shipping, and then after that I'm not sure! I'll have to see how things are going at the old homestead here, and then I'll let you know. :D

Hi everyone!

I'm so sorry that the sale started late! Thank you all for your orders, and a special thank you to those of you who were waiting patiently at the gate for me to open. I am truly sorry to have made you wait.

The items that were limited in number sold out a little more quickly than I thought they would (thank you!), so I'll put up just a few more solid perfumes, bath milks and butters tomorrow (Sunday) at 6:00 pm EST (I didn't want to just list them without at least a little warning). These are a little more labor intensive to make and package, so I kept the stock numbers lower. I'll list them without shipping attached, so if you've already placed an order, you won't have a second charge (I will combine all multiple orders already placed, and refund shipping overages).

I'll keep the shops open until midnight tonight (EST Sat.). Thank you all so much for your orders, comments, friendly emails and support!

I also wanted to mention that Big Cartel orders do not generate receipts, so your email from PayPal is the only receipt you'll receive. Don't let this worry you! I've never had a lost order while using Big Cartel, so please be assured that if your order made it through PayPal, I have a record of it.

I've been cursed! and, The Preview...

I swear my Halloween sales are cursed- I always run into more issues than usual trying to get the shop ready! I'm going to open the preview in about an hour (around 10:30 pm EST), but I'll still be adding more items tonight and tomorrow before the shop officially opens. I'll keep the preview up tonight and through the day tomorrow (Friday). I do apologize for not being able to get the preview ready sooner for you- very busy mom with computer woes here (now fixed). :D

About an hour prior to opening the doors tomorrow night, I'll close the shop again, and make sure everything is listed and ready to go for the sale (nothing new will be added once I officially open).

Hi everyone!
Are you ready for some spooky treats and Autumn delights? ! Please join me on Friday 9/30 at 8:00 pm ET for the opening of the Autumn Apothecary!   www.Haunt.bigcartel.com

Because of the many emails I've received expressing your wishes for more product availability, I do plan to keep the shop open and stocked until Saturday 10/1, midnight ET. This will give more of you a chance to shop at your convenience. However, there will be limited quantities of some products due to availability of raw materials or time constraints (some products take much longer to make than others, so I have to put a limit on how many I offer). Because I will be offering a much larger quantity of products for this sale, the order processing time will be about 6-8 weeks, which will allow me time to make larger amounts of products, and give each order the special attention that it deserves!   I will continue to have smaller sales with a quicker TAT in the future, but thank you for understanding that extra time will be needed for Autumn Apothecary orders.

However! Because I know many of you like to give friends and family little gifts for Halloween, I will be opening a separate Big Cartel shop at the same time as the Autumn Apothecary, which will contain ONLY Lust lip balms. I'll process these orders first, and get them shipped out in time for Halloween delivery. Because Lust orders are quicker to process, this won't affect the order processing in the main shop. Hi everyone!
Thank you to all who participated in the sale last night! I'm going to take a day or two to answer emails and finish up loose ends, and then I'll start processing orders this weekend.

This was a much smaller sale than the last (fewer products available), and I know many of you tried to purchase items and were unsuccessful. I don't want anyone to be disappointed or frustrated when leaving my shop! So many of you have been loyal and supportive customers all along my journey with Haunt, and I want to keep it that way! I've been trying to strike a balance between keeping up with a growing customer base and shortening my turnaround times, but the two may not be compatible right now. :D I'm going to try something different for the Fall sale, and maybe we will be closer to finding the right fit for everyone. Summer Overstock preview

Summer Shop Overstock

I apologize for being away for so long! I promised that I would have a small sale with the Summer Shop overstock, but I ended up with very few things after it was all said and done. So, instead, I made a few new batches of some of the sugar polishes, skin glossing oils, and lusts, which will be up for grabs at the Big Cartel site this Wednesday, July 27 at 9:00 pm ET. No soap this time around, I'm afraid, but I'll be fully stocked with your favorites (and of course some spooky limited editions) when Autumn rolls around!

shipping update 6/13

Hi everyone!
I'm sorry to have to ask for some extra time to finish the remaining orders up. Looking through what I've completed, and how many I have left to do, I feel confident that I can finish everything on Tuesday. I know this is several days past my original turnaround, and I do sincerely apologize. I had hoped to get these completed over the weekend, but I just wasn't able to get through them all. I do my best to judge the time I need to complete orders, but unfortunately I can't always foresee things that may cause delays . Please contact me if the extra few days pose any problems for you, and I'll do what I can to resolve any issues.

Also, a melt warning! The brutal heat here in the US last week may have melted a few sugar polishes! If you receive a polish that is softened, please stir it with a clean utensil, and place it in the fridge until firm. If it's very soft, it may have to be stirred a few times while it's in the fridge to keep the sugar suspended as it firms. Please let me know if you have any questions about this or anything else!

Summer Shop update 6/10

Hi everyone!
I wanted to get a quick post in to let you know that I will be working through the weekend to complete the orders. I've had a few order inquiries today, and I just want my new (and regular!) customers to be assured that everything is okay, and I'm moving as quickly as I can! One of the things about this sale that has caused confusion is the SPEED at which orders were placed, and what that means as far as when each is processed.
As I said in my earlier post, even though the majority of orders were placed at very close (or overlapping) intervals, two orders placed at the same time (by two different customers) may actually be processed by me days apart from each other, because of the ordering of the notifications that I received, and the number of customers placing orders at the same time. I hope I'm explaining this well! Of course, if you need further help, please contact me.

Summer Shop opening!

It's Spring!

Hi everyone!
I hope you are all doing wonderfully! I'm slowly starting to come out of hibernation. :) I took a little break from Haunt after the Winter sale, but I'm back to gathering up supplies and raw materials and fidgeting about with new scent blends. I'd like to have a Spring/Summer sale in late April or very early May. This will be a smaller sale with a quicker turnaround than in the past. As I get things figured out, I'll let you know the details!

As I have for the last two sales, I'll post updates here, and will also send out newsletters to all of you who have signed up. Many of you have suggested a Haunt facebook page for updates, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to stay on top of it enough to be useful!

Winter sale update 2/10

Hi everyone!
Forgive me for not updating sooner- my little guy isn't feeling well this week. I'm glad to report that the remaining orders are done! I had a few snags on the weekend- we had a winter storm on Saturday and I missed my intended post office drop-off, so a few packages were a day or two later on shipping. I'm sorry for that! I tried my best to stay on track with shipping at least twice a week this time. Thank you all, again, for your orders. I'm very grateful that you are willing to allow me the time to run Haunt without sacrificing my role as a full-time mom. I know it isn't a typical situation for most growing companies, and I don't take it for granted at all. :)

Thank you to all of my new customers, as well! My mailing list is getting huge! I know that my success is due to the "word of mouth" of my wonderful customers, and I appreciate it very much. I've met some amazing people doing this.

So, I'm thinking of spring... If I'm able to, I may do a series of smaller sales for a spring/summer release, instead of having a gigantic sale and a long TAT. I'll think on it for a bit! I'll be celebrating three years of Hauntiness this April, and I may just need another three before I have this all figured out! :D

Before I forget! I'm trying to devise a way to stay current with emails a little better. They are always out of control (because I can't answer them every day), and I REALLY don't like when emails go missing in the quagmire, or get answered late. I'm thinking that I may devote an email address to order inquiries, another for general comments, etc. Hopefully I can do this once I am selling from my own website (soon!). In the meantime, thank you for bearing with my not so great system. I'm hoping to finish up the orders this week- I still have quite a few left, but I'm working hard to get them done. I was thinking that I'd have more multiple orders than I did, as normally I have more of these than singles, but the majority of the orders are single this time (which increases the number of physical packages). I'm really glad many of you were able to get what you wanted without having to make multiple orders! I appreciate your emails letting me know that the buying experience was better for you. Hopefully this will continue to improve as I move onto my own website in the future.

Hi everyone!
I'm still working on the December 9th orders (the majority of the orders placed), but should be able to get a good chunk of them processed this weekend while I have help with the wee one here at home. :) Thank you, again, for waiting through this long TAT time for me. I offered almost as much product for the Winter sale as I did for Halloween, and still had quite a bit of it to make still (because of the time it took me to ship Halloween orders, I couldn't get everything made in time for winter). I'm grateful to all of you for being so kind and patient.

Just a reminder as you receive your shipping notices- please allow (a possible) two business days from the shipping notice date for your package to physically be dropped off at the post office. I can't do post office drop-offs daily, but I do process and pack orders everyday, so there may be a little overlap. Hopefully this will give you a good idea of when to expect your package!

Thank you all for your orders, and nice emails, too! The shop will remain open for a few more days, for those who may have missed the "grand opening". :D

Now some important business! I do plan to work as quickly as I can to process orders, but I just needed that buffer this time to finish up some products (I offered a larger amount of products this time around) and make sure that shipping goes smoothly. As I get better at handling large volume sales, my TAT will decrease, but thank you for understanding while it is still at the longer 6-8 week processing.

When I pack your order, you will receive a notification from me with a tracking number, and you can expect your package to be dropped off at the post office within 2 business days of the notification. I'll combine all multiple orders that I come across, and refund the shipping, as well as shipping overages on single orders.

International orders will be invoiced for actual (least expensive) shipping charges. If you wish to upgrade your shipping to a traceable service (Priority or Express mail), please let me know, and I'll get the rates for you.

Hi everyone,
I'm so sorry about the confusion happening right now! I chose a really bad time to get SICK, sick sick, and I'm really lagging behind. I'll be opening the preview shop at about 4:00 pm ET today (Dec.9) at www.Haunt.bigcartel.com. THE ACTUAL SALE TIME WILL STILL BEGIN AT 9:00 pm ET! Don't be worried when I open for the preview and everything appears sold out.

You'll notice that ALL of my packaging is new, and I've been trying to get the new pictures done and everything uploaded this week, and I guess my body decided it was a good time to attack me with an illness. :) Thank you for bearing with me, again.

Hi everyone!

The winter sale is finally here!

The opening date will be Thursday, December 9, at 9:00 pm ET. PLEASE NOTE!!! The location of the sale will be at WWW.HAUNT.BIGCARTEL.COM. I'll be opening the shop sometime on Wednesday Dec. 8 so that you can peek around, but no items can be bought at that time (they will show as "sold out"). Then, on Thursday, I'll fill quantities, and open up the doors! At least that's my plan... I haven't sold on Big Cartel yet, so hopefully it will run smoothly! :D For those unfamiliar with Big Cartel: you can just add items to your cart as you normally would on any website, and then check out through PayPal.

I wanted to make shipping rates a little easier to deal with for this sale, but I think until my own website is set up (coming soon!), I'm going to have to continue with flat rate shipping. The shipping rate for domestic orders will again be $10, and I will refund any shipping overages. If you place more than one order, I will combine them and refund the difference, but this will be done at the time your package actually ships, so please keep this in mind.

International customers will be invoiced separately for shipping costs, so everyone can use the shopping cart system this time! International orders will show a 0.00 charge for shipping at checkout.

I know this is a tricky time of year for everyone, so I have no idea if this will be a blow-out or a steady flow kind of sale, so I'll stay open as long as I have stock to offer. I'll be offering much of my main line, as well as some delightful new winter goodies.

PLEASE NOTE! The order processing time for this sale will be 6-8 weeks. I will, of course, work as quickly as I can to get your orders out well before this, but I can't guarantee any Christmas deliveries, unfortunately! As I've mentioned before, I am working on some changes that will shorten my TAT to a reasonable length, but this may not be until summer or fall. Thank you for understanding that I run Haunt part-time, but am continually looking at ways to run it a little more smoothly!

I'll be finishing up the orders from the Halloween sale today. To those of you who are receiving your orders now, I want to extend my deepest apologies for the delivery notice confusion and extended wait that I caused you. In my increasing panic to return all of the shipping overages (a rather large amount that was looming!), I allowed a number of orders to fall behind in being shipped, some over a week. And now, some changes! I finally accept that I can't complete a "full-time" amount of work on my part-time availability! So, in addition to the changes I'll be making to shipping charges for the next sale, I'm also going to finally just give in and extend my turnaround time to 6-8 weeks, at least for the time being. This will allow me to keep better track of orders, as I won't be processing/packing in a frenzy whenever I can catch a free moment throughout the day. :D I can slow down just a little, make sure each customer is taken care of properly, has an exact ship date, etc. If I can get a really good system in place finally, perhaps this TAT can improve for future sales.

Thank you all again for your orders from the Halloween sale. It was the largest of the three that I've had, and I was actually taken a little by surprise by the number of new customers that I met. I appreciate you taking the plunge, and I hope you will be back again!

I apologize for being away so long! I've gotten some inquiries regarding shipping notices that were sent out on Oct.19 (and perhaps a few from the 18th). Because I'm not shipping packages every day due to order volume and increased "paperwork" this time around (shipping refunds, etc.), there may be 2-3 days lag from the time you receive your CNS to the time it is physically dropped off at the post office, and some of the orders processed on the 19th may have been sent out a day or two later than that, due to an oversight on my part. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience or worry that this has caused.

My main priority was to get everyone their shipping refunds (especially for multiple orders) as quickly as I could- some were completed beforehand (if you contacted me to let me know), but most were done at the time of packing so that I could get an actual shipping weight. This process took quite a bit longer than I anticipated, and therefore I wasn't able to get packages out every day.

As always, I am responsible for all packages in transit, and for ensuring your satisfaction after you have received it, so please don't be concerned if your think your order may be lost or overlooked.

I want to thank you all, truly, for your understanding when I hit a snag like this with shipping.

I'm working very quickly to get your orders to you! I'll have some help tomorrow, so I'm hopeful that I can get through the majority of the orders between today and tomorrow. I'm still trying to get to all of the shipping refunds for multiple orders- this turned out to be a much bigger job than I anticipated, with the majority of the orders being multiples! I'm refunding as many as I can beforehand, and then catching the ones I missed as I pack those orders. Hi everyone!
I'm so sorry that I didn't get the chance to do a proper update for the Etsy sale! Last week was so crazy for me. Thank you to all who placed orders yesterday and today! It's always so nice to see my old friends again!

Right now I have many, MANY order requests and order add-on requests that I would normally try my hardest to honor. Because I decided to sell only a limited number of products this time (to keep my TAT reasonable), I'm heartbroken to say that I can't honor most of these requests. Instead, what I'm going to do is list the remaining items that I have in the Etsy shop this evening (Oct.2) at 9:00 pm ET, for anyone to purchase. This is the fairest way I can think of doing things, although it does pain me! I'm sorry for the short notice, but I need to finish up with the sales so that I can get right to packing things. I'm going to need every minute of the 10 day TAT, I'm afraid, as I still have hundreds of convos and shipping refunds to attend to. Thank you all again.

ALSO! I've decided that if things go smoothly with getting the Halloween orders out, I would like to have another sale in November for Holiday items. This would include more of my main line of products that I didn't get the chance to make this time, as well as some limiteds. I hope that some of you who missed out on the Halloween sale can find some favorites at that time. I'd like to try to do these two sales yearly, as I think that would be something I could do and still honor my personal responsibilities. Yay!

I wanted to clear up some possible confusion about the availability of Haunt products at the moment. This week and last I sent out a few shipments of Haunt products to various Haunt retailers, to complete the final orders that were placed by these retailers before I "closed" in December. These orders were all very large, and therefore it has taken me a few months to produce and ship all of the products. I thought I would be done in February, but I had to take a few weeks off in late February/early March due to illness, so the last push of products is happening now.

So, Haunt is still on hiatus at this time, but there are a few products available out there for your shopping delight! I hope everyone is doing wonderfully, and looking forward to a warm, green spring. :)

I'm doing my best to get products sent out to Haunt retailers as quickly as I can. I can't send each one my full line at the same time (impossible for me, time-wise), so each is receiving several shipments of mixed products over the course of a few weeks. This makes the Haunt section of their websites a little sparse at times, but I hope you understand! I agreed to accept wholesale orders until Jan.1, so some retailers will still have products available for you in January, especially soap. Thank you all for continuing your loyalty to Haunt by purchasing through Haunt retailers. I know that they appreciate it very much! I've heard wonderful things from them all about the Haunt fans that they've dealt with. Of course, this is no surprise to me. :)

Hi everyone!
Things are mostly wrapped up with Etsy orders- I have a small stack of order errors left to fix, and a few more listings to add for people who have been waiting from October. Things got to a point where I had to stop answering order requests from October, because I needed to concentrate on getting the last of the orders already placed out the door. So, I'll try to get to everyone now who is still waiting (thank you, by the way!) If you have any issues regarding your Etsy order, please contact me through Etsy, or HauntSoap@gmail.com. I have been very overwhelmed and just flat out exhausted since October, so I greatly appreciate your understanding when you notice an order error. Just let me know and I'll fix it!

I'm also trying to get products sent out to Haunt retailers before I close in December, and will try my best to get everyone fully stocked, including most of my soaps.

While I'm on the subject (although I absolutely don't want to do this), I need to address some issues that have been raised. I know that some of you who placed Etsy orders were upset that my retailers were receiving products, while I was still packing Etsy orders for over a month. Please understand that I have a standing commitment to my retailers, and have agreed to supply them with my products throughout the year. I tried my absolute best to attend to my Etsy orders as a priority, while working simultaneously to send out a few boxes to a few Haunt retailers. I can assure you that my retailers have received only a small fraction of what I've sent out the door through Etsy, and I never "stopped" processing Etsy orders- I had to do it all at the same time. I absolutely understand the frustration of having to wait so long for an order, and I can only say that I'm truly sorry, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking it out with me. I put myself in a very difficult situation by "leaving the door open" on my Etsy shop, instead of offering only a limited number of items. As I said before, I know now that this was a mistake, but I can't reverse what was done, and can only do my best to honor my commitments. I don't think I can convey in words how exhausting this has been for me, and how much time and work I put into getting each order out. I am absolutely heartbroken that I'm closing Haunt and some of you that were disappointed due to the long turnaround will be left with only that impression.

Thank you so much to everyone that has supported me now or in the past. Many of you have written to me to let me know how much you have enjoyed my products, or just enjoyed chatting with me, and I really appreciate that. I haven't been able to take the time to respond to many of you, but please know that you are appreciated so much. I do not have an easy life at times, and the joy that so many of you have brought me is truly cherished.

Unfortunately, I have an embarrassing number of order errors that I am trying to get straightened out while I also finish up the few remaining orders from October. I haven't had this many issues before, and I feel terrible about it, especially because this will be the last time most of you will order from me before I close. I am only concerned with incorrect or missing items, or missing orders altogether (yes, I have some of those).

I'm VERY close to being done! I want to see how much I can get done today, and then I'll give a more specific update tonight (11/11). I haven't been feeling well, so my pace has slowed a little over the past few days, but I should be able to wrap things up by the end of this weekend, or hopefully before. I've gone a few days past my targeted order processing time, but it shouldn't be more than that. Thank you, all, for your continued patience.

OK, I'm back for the update! I have a little over a hundred orders to pack at this point (this is good!). I should be able to get everything done by the end of this weekend (this includes any orders placed after the shop closing, which I will continue to also set up as I go through October convos). Hi everyone!
I finished up the last 75 or so orders from October 1st throughout the weekend and today, and have also dived into the orders from the 2nd-3rd (Eastern Time Zone). I'll need at least through Thursday to finish packing, typing up shipping labels and giving shipping refunds for these, and then I can move on to the 4th-7th orders. If this changes for any reason, you will be updated immediately. I'm hoping that the 4th-7th will go fairly quickly compared to the 1st-3rd, because the number of orders isn't nearly as high. LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF YOU HAVE A TIME-SENSITIVE ORDER. Let me know in your email or convo subject line that your order is urgent.

I'm trying to search through my convos to answer all shipping inquiries today and tomorrow, and will then continue with the rest of the convos, which include order additions and other requests. I'm afraid that I am still very behind on all convos and emails, but I'm not able to move any faster on these. Again, I'm sorry to be the cause of any inconvenience for anyone.

Since orders are about a month behind, some of my new customers may be worried about what they've gotten themselves into! Please feel assured that you are going to get your order as soon as I can possibly get it to you, and it will be packed with care and thoughtfulness. Contact me at any time with any concerns you have- I will always do whatever I can to accommodate you.

Finally, I think I should just be honest here and let you know that I am working very hurriedly, and almost always while taking care of my son, so shipping/order mistakes are not unheard of! I'm sorry this is late! I'd like to first say that I am extremely sorry for starting out the Etsy sale with a lower turnaround time, and then changing it several times. In the perfect vision of hindsight, I know that this was a mistake, and I shouldn't have tried to be a superwoman thinking I could get orders out quickly. I should have just opened with a longer TAT, and could have avoided many of the problems I'm facing now.

When I did see that the number of orders were getting to be beyond my control, I closed the shop 20 days earlier than planned, but I think it was too late at that point! I am grateful that you decided to put your faith in me and my products, and I do not take this lightly in the least. Please understand that I am trying to do the best I can, and cannot physically do anything more to speed this process. Again, I am sorry to inconvenience anyone, and I understand completely why some of you are upset. I will try to do what I can to help you when you contact me.

Getting through the hundreds of orders from Oct.1 has taken me much longer than I would have liked, but they are mostly done, as well as some of the Oct. 2-3 orders. What I am doing at this point is filling as many orders as I can with the products I have on hand, and then taking a day off of packing to make more products, and then going back to the orders that had out of stock items. Each order requires 5 or 6 steps to complete it, and many of them are very large, so I can only get out 15-20 packages a day while I am alone during the week. When I have the assistance of my husband on the weekends, I can do more.

After the bulk of the Oct.2-3 orders are out (I'm planning on this weekend), again, things will move faster because there aren't that number of orders on the other days of sales.

I'm not quite caught up on Etsy convos (I'm trying to balance these with packing/production), but I'm getting close. Thank you, again, for your patience.

Hi everyone,
I've had an announcement to make for a little while now, and have been trying to decide on the best time for sharing with you all. Since many of you are wondering if I'll be reopening Etsy for Christmas/Holiday items, I thought I should get this off of my chest now.

Haunt will be closing at the end of this year, and I most likely won't be reopening the Etsy shop for the 2009 holidays. After Jan 1 (or possibly sooner, depending on location), my products will no longer be available at any retail location. I may try to open up my website or Etsy once or twice a year for some seasonal treats, but will be going back to being a 100% full time mom the rest of the time. I've been very lucky to see the hard work, love and dedication I've put into Haunt result in a successful and ever-growing business. I have come to realize, however, that I'm not the girl for the job anymore!

It isn't possible for me to continue running Haunt alone anymore, and moving off site and possibly hiring an employee or two is not an option either, as I need to be at home with my son. So, as of Jan.1, Haunt will be closing. I'm so grateful for the support all of you have shown the company, and me, as a person. I'll miss everyone very much!

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to do this quickly so that I can get back to packing! I had to change my turnaround to 3-4 weeks from time of order. I didn't think this was going to happen this time around, but I didn't accurately predict the volume of orders I would receive, and how much time I would need for customer service related things. I'll have help packing orders (from my handy husband) from Oct. 23-25, and we plan on shipping a few hundred boxes during this time. I'll also be working on getting completely caught up on emails and convos, so those of you who have been waiting, you should hear from me over the next couple of days.

Some of you have asked about shipping confirmation emails, which I will begin to send with all orders from today on. I was trying to save time by leaving out that step, but with my sporadic shipping and ever changing TAT, I understand that this is important to you.

Etsy feedback

Hi everyone!
I've received numerous emails regarding order processing and Etsy feedback, so I thought I would post this in an effort to save time. Some of you are concerned that you see feedback left from customers who placed orders after yours. There are a few reasons for this: many customers placed multiple orders on different days, so I combine those orders and send them together. So, if someone placed an order on Oct. 1, and also ordered on the 9th, you may see feedback for both dates. I have also received feedback from some supportive customers who haven't actually received their orders yet, so this may be confusing when you are trying to gauge where I am in order processing. Finally, I've processed a couple of "urgent" orders that contained items for birthdays or other time sensitive events, but these are few. I hope this clears things up a little, but please contact me if you are still concerned.

Hi everyone!
Oh my! I gravely underestimated how long it would take me to process these orders. The bulk of orders through Oct.1 have been processed, and the last of these will ship out 10/19-10/20. I'm still working on the final orders from Oct.1 through orders placed 10/2-3. I am going as quickly as I can to get through these, because things will go much faster after these days of orders are completed. I want to assure you that I am doing everything I can to get your packages to you in a timely manner, but will admit that the amount of orders that I have to process is a monumental undertaking! I am, as always, extremely grateful for your patience.

If you are due a shipping refund, there may be a slight delay (a day or so) between when your order is shipped and when I send the refund. This is because I use one website to print shipping labels, and another to process the refunds (PayPal). It's more efficient for me to wait until I have a stack of refunds to process and do them all at once. I hope this hasn't caused any confusion.

Please contact me if you have any concerns about your order. I'm still working my way through convos, so please don't feel as though I'm ignoring you!

Etsy closing date

Hi everyone!
I'm still working my way through Etsy convos from Oct. 1-2. I have a very large number of them to go through, so thank you for your patience!

I've decided on a closing date, which will be October 11. I know this is earlier than I originally thought, but after feeling out the situation, I think it would be wisest for me to close a little early and be sure to get everyone's orders to them before Halloween, and I think it still gives everyone who wishes to time to place an order. I'm also flexible, so if you don't have time to get your order in before the shop closes, just send me a convo or email. I do still plan to list a few soaps next week, and if they aren't gone by the time I close, I'll leave them up a few extra days.

Hi everyone!
I'm so sorry to those of you who were waiting for my shop to open last night. My computer is completely overloaded and needs an upgrade, so getting everything loaded into the shop took me all day and night. If I had known how long it would take I would have started much sooner. I think I'm out of practice!

I still have a few of my regular line items that I want to add (I'm not listing everything because I need to keep my TAT reasonable), but I had to start working on answering convos because they're piling up very fast. If you are waiting for a refund, order addition, or just have a question, I'm working on answering convos non-stop this evening. Please know everything I do concerning Haunt is done while caring for my son, so I am not able to work at the speed I would if I was a full time business. I appreciate your understanding and continued desire to support my company in spite of the delays, because this is not a situation that I can change.

I will continue to make the seasonal products to keep them in stock, so don't be worried if something appears to be "sold out". I'll re-list items as I see them depleted.

I plan to list more soaps at the end of next week, including the limited editions. I may have some more seasonal soaps at the end of October- I ran out of time to make them in time for the shop opening. I had a very busy August/September!

official Halloween preview!

The chilly, leaf- filled gusts of wind outside are telling me that it's time for me to get in the Halloween spirit! So here we go.

The shop will open sometime in the evening on the 30th. I'll figure out tomorrow what would be the best time for everyone, and post it here as well as in my shop. I do plan to stay open for as long as I can through October, but the official closing date really depends on how my son is doing, and how busy the shop is. I'll post that as soon as I know as well.

I'm not going to reveal everything tonight, because firstly, I want to leave a few things to the imagination, and secondly, I haven't finished writing descriptions for everything! Here are some quick descriptions of what I have planned:

Hi everyone!
Well, time is closing in on me. :D I'm going to have to change my Etsy shop opening to September 30, because I'm realizing that I need those few extra days to have everything made, labeled and ready to go. Orders will be shipped out as quickly as I can pack them! No long turnaround this time.

I plan to keep the shop open until at least the end of October. I'll post a closing date on my Etsy homepage as soon as I know when that will be.

I'm sorry that I never got around to posting sneak peek pictures like I had planned. I was completely surprised by how busy I was this summer, especially the past few weeks. late summer greetings

Hi everyone!
It's been awhile since I posted anything! I've been busy working on lots of new things. I plan to release some new perfume, soap, skin gloss and sugar polish scents in early-mid September, which will be added to my regular line. In late September, I'll be opening the Etsy shop with lots of lovely Halloween trickety treats, as well as my main line of products. I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm working on some new perfume blends that I'm really excited about. The blends that I've already released were not originally intended to be "perfumes", but were created first for my soaps, polishes, etc. So, some work well as perfumes, and some are a little on the fleeting side, and need re-application throughout the day. My vision is to have a line of perfume oils that can stand alone, rather than starting life as a soap scent or sugar polish. It allows for more complexity and subtlety. It also gives me a chance to work with wonderful fragrance materials that are too delicate or expensive for other applications. I hope that you all enjoy my creations!

Before I go, I understand that some of you have experienced difficulties with the sprayer heads on the skin glossing oils. Please know that I have gone through several suppliers to try to find the most reliable sprayer heads over the past year, and I think that I finally found the good ones! I've been using them since June, and haven't experienced any problems yet. If you have a sprayer that doesn't work, please contact me at info@HauntSoap.com or Haunt.etsy.com, and I'll send you a new one, no matter where you purchased the gloss from.

I'm sorry that I haven't been keeping up with shipping updates! As of this evening, all April orders have been shipped, and I've now moved on to processing May orders. I'm working on May1-4 tonight. I have a lot of products to make this weekend before I can move on beyond that (my limited production time and limited product storage space are the main reasons for my long turnaround- I need to make most products weekly, and sometimes have to wait until the weekend to do so), but I should be shortening my TAT sometime next week. Yay!

And now some important information! Over the last week or so I've discovered a few shipping/order processing mistakes that I've made, which resulted in several undelivered packages. I feel truly terrible about this, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to release my new scents before I close in June. I feel very strongly that I should concentrate on getting out the orders that have already been placed before taking the time to release new items. It takes a good amount of time to create labels, print and cut them, take product photos, write scent descriptions, etc., and I don't feel right about taking the time to do this when so many are still waiting for orders. If I'm able to get caught up, I may have time to sneak some stuff in before June. I'm so sorry to those of you that have been looking forward to new scents. I promise to make up for this when I reopen in September for Halloween. I have some really exciting things planned!

Hi everyone!
I have been thinking long and hard the past few months about the best way to continue with Haunt. As my business grows, I'm finding that it's becoming harder and harder to provide the kind of customer service that I would expect from other companies. My turnaround time is becoming longer and longer, and I think that instead of continuing to stretch it out any further, I'm going to be closing the Etsy shop to everyday sales, starting in June (I'll provide a date later). I'll open for seasonal and limited edition products, for Halloween, Christmas, spring etc., but will be closed the remainder of the time. My products will continue to be available to you at several locations on a regular basis (please see www.HauntSoap.com). I hope that this change will allow me to expand my line to include the things I've had to put off due to time constraints, like lotions, creams, and haircare. So, I'll give this new setup a try, and hope that it works out for everyone.

I've been asked if I will announce when the Etsy shop openings will be, and the answer is yes. I'll post to this blog, as well as my main website and the Etsy shop homepage.

** I want to add that my decision to close is about my family's needs. I am extremely grateful for every customer that I have served, and don't want anyone to think that they have caused me any stress or anxiety at all by ordering from me!

I feel the need to let you know that I am not feeling well right now, and along with the many responsibilities that I have in my life, I 'm really struggling to keep up with Haunt business. I am very private normally, and I don't really like to make excuses for why I can't process orders more quickly, or answer convos/emails right away, etc., but I feel that my business is affected enough by my personal life that perhaps I should mention something about it. I have an enormous responsibility that is to give my son with special needs a safe, happy, healthy environment at all times, and sometimes in order to do that, I need to push Haunt matters to the side momentarily. Although I can't consider it my main "job", please know that every order that is placed is important to me, and I truly do work as quickly as I possibly can to get products made and packaged, while trying to keep the personal touch that means a lot to me, and to many of you as well. I'm excited to say that I'll have some new soap offerings when I reopen my Etsy shop! I'll let you know when I will be hanging out the "open" sign. I am looking at the end of January/first week in February, so that I can be sure that I have plenty of stock of everything.
